Policy forum on women’s welfare in the Bangsamoro

Members of Parliament Atty. Mary Ann M. Arnado and Atty. Rasol Y. Mitmug, Jr., together with some members of the GAD Focal Point System of the BTA Parliament participated in today’s policy forum on women’s welfare in the Bangsamoro.

The activity gathered some stakeholders from the government, international non-government organizations, and civil society organizations to share reports on the status of women and girls in the Bangsamoro region and recommend what policies can be formulated to address issues and concerns of women and promote their welfare.

Representatives from the offices of Members of Parliament Diamila Ramos and Froilyn Mendoza were also present in the activity.

The said forum was organized by The Asia Foundation.

Iftar for PEACE PARTNERS

In solidarity with the Muslim community in the observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan, we were invited by the OPAPRU to Iftar for PEACE PARTNERS yesterday, April 23, 2023.

Presidential Adviser Purisima underscored spiritual partnership as key in promoting the culture of peace, mutual understanding and solidarity among our people. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ebrahim gladly announced the unification of revolutionary and mujahideen groups working together in service of the Bangsamoro. MNLF reps Abdulkarim T. Misuari and Muslimin Sema also reaffirmed their commitment to and for peace in the region.

As one of the invitees and peace partner, we could only work faithfully to fulfill our promises and commitments to our people specially on the aspect of sustainable peace and development.

This activity was attended by OPAPRU officials, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, leaders of of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Moro National Liberation Front, and representatives of the security sector, civil society organizations, and the diplomatic corps.

Committee report for a proposed resolution

A committee report for a proposed resolution supporting the call of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to create and organize a district engineering office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Bangsamoro region was approved by the Public Works Committee of the Bangsamoro Parliament on Wednesday, April 12.

The Committee has determined that it is necessary to expedite infrastructure projects, especially the repairs and maintenance of the national road, bridges, and highways in BARMM.

It also adopted Resolutions Nos. 99 and 84, which together urge the DPWH to give the national highways and bridges top priority for repairs, reconstruction, rehabilitation, improvement, and maintenance.
