The Bangsamoro Parliament’s Ethics and Privileges Committee officially adopted their internal rules of procedure on Monday, September 25.<\/span><\/p>\n

The highlight of their meeting was the rules to record witnesses\u2019 testimonies verbatim to enhance transparency and accuracy in the committee’s proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The newly adopted rules emphasize the importance of safeguarding the records of witnesses’ testimonies. The committee secretariat is responsible for preserving and maintaining the confidentiality of these records.<\/span><\/p>\n

Without the approval of the chairperson, these documents cannot be copied, withdrawn, or taken per the rules.
\nThe CEP must also submit a report to the plenary outlining its findings and recommendations within 30 days of the inquiry’s termination.<\/span><\/p>\n

CEP Chair Atty. Omar Yasser Sema said the rules are a mechanism for them to “police themselves in terms of performance, public appearance, and ethics.” (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)<\/span><\/p>\n
