Committee on Rules starts deliberation on proposed amendments to filed Bangsamoro Electoral Code

COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Parliament’s Committee on Rules started deliberating the proposed 168-page amendments of the committee members to the proposed Bangsamoro Electoral Code.
 
The proposed electoral code, as amended and agreed upon by the committee, will prescribe the structural, functional, and procedural principles in the conduct of elections, plebiscites, initiatives, referenda, and recall proceedings, as well as encourage the formation of genuinely principled political parties in the Bangsamoro region.
 
The committee amended Article I, sections 1 through 5, of BTA Bill No. 29, including the bill’s language.
 
BTA Floor Leader Atty. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba said that the committee targets to complete the committee report this week and present it to the plenary on March 6.
 
She expressed confidence that they are crafting an electoral code that will benefit the Bangamoro people in the 2025 elections for the Bangamoro Parliament. See more photos.
