STATEMENT ON THE FOILED AMBUSH OF GOVERNOR ADIONG

We denounce the ambush incident in Maguing, Lanao del Sur, which killed four security personnel (Inna lillahi wa inna iaihi raji’un) and wounded Governor Mamintal Bombit Adiong Jr. and his staff earlier today.

We express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victims and offer our prayers for the speedy recovery of the wounded.

We call upon the authorities to fully investigate this incident, to bring the perpetrators to trial and ensure that the victims’ families receive justice.

Opisina ni MP Mitmug, nagsanay sa moral governance training

Sumailalim sa training on moral governance ang buong opisna ni MP Rasol Mitmug, Jr. na isinagawa at pinangunahan ng Development Academy of the Bangsamoro (DAB) kahapon ika-7 ng Pebrero 2023.

Ang nasabing training ay ginawa sa loob lamang ng isang araw kung saan binigyang kahulugan ang moral governance, ipinaliwanag ang pinagmulan nito, at tinalakay ang sampung elemento nito na kinabibilangan ng mga sumusunod: belief or piety, rule of law, justice, moral and ethical values, consultation (as-shurah), trust (Amanah), striving for excellence, balance of sustainable development, accountability at transparency.
 
Nagbigay din ng mga kongkretong halimbawa ang DAB sa paggamit ng mga elementong ito sa araw-araw na gawain at pagbibigay serbisyo bilang kawani ng gobyerno. Naging makabuluhan ang kabuuan ng aktibidad dahil sa interaktibong partisipasyon ng mga staff ni MP Mitmug. Sa ginawang workshop, naibahagi ng mga staff kung paano nila magagamit ang mga elemento at prinsipyo ng moral governance sa kanilang mga responsibilidad sa kani-kanilang dibisyon sa opisina at ano ang magiging epekto sa kanilang constituency. Hangad ni Gebracel N. Makaton, resource speaker ng DAB para sa training na ito, na maiparating o macascade ng staff ni Mitmug ang kanilang mga natutunan sa training lalo na iyong elemento ng moral governance.
 
Sa huli ay nagsulat ng kani-kanilang pledges o pangako ang mga staff sa Commitment Wall ng Moral Governance na siya namang ipapaskil sa loob ng opisina para maging gabay o magsilbing paalala sa kanilang pagtatrabaho.
 
Ang opisina ni Mitmug ang KAUNA-UNAHANG opisina ng MP na dumaan sa training on moral governance na sadyang inirequest ni MP Rasol Mitmug dahil gusto nitong maisapuso at maiapply ng bawat staff ang Moral Governance na siyang adbokasiya ng BARMM nung umpisa pa lang. Aniya dapat munang maintindihan nang maiigi ng opisina kung ano ba talaga ito at doon mag-uumpisa at mapapaigting ang aplikasyon ng moral governance.
 
Ipinarating din ni Said Ibrahim Abdulkasan, DAB facilitator, ang kanyang pasasalamat sa pag-imbita sa kanila para maisagawa ang flagship training ng Academy. Ayon sa kanya, nakapagsimula na sila sa mga ministries at agencies pero ang opisina ni MP Mitmug ang pinakauna sa mga Members of the Parliament na sumailalim dito. Kaya naman hinihikayat namin ang ibang opisina ng mga Miyembro ng Parliament na sumailalam din sa training na ito dahil lahat tayo ay kabilang sa pamamahala ng Bangsamoro.
 
Nakatakda rin sanang manumpa (oath) ng moral governance ang mga staff ni Mitmug sa araw na ito ngunit hindi natuloy dahil sa pagpanaw ni Wali Nando. Matatandaan na si MP Mitmug ay personal pumunta sa opisina ni Wali para manumpa noong 2020.

Focus group discussion on “Women, Peace and Security Agenda in the BARMM: A Decade of Regional Implementation of UNSCR 1325” last 12 February 2023, Sunday at the District Office of MP Rasol Mitmug, Jr., at the G/F VIP Lounge, MSU Gym, Marawi City.

This activity is part of a series for the research work of SITTIE JEHANNE U. MUTIN, Lead Researcher/ UNDP RAP-WPS Technical Consultant, on women in conflict, especially in the light of the Marawi siege and rido in the area. The FGD is organized in partnership with the Office BTA MP Rasol Mitmug, Jr. and the Rotary Club of Marawi. The participants are women composed of community leaders, beneficiaries and implementers of the WPS specially the Bangsamoro Women Commission – BARMM Lanao and/or GAD program in BARMM from 2012-2022. The objectives of the activity are: validate women, peace and security issues in the BARMM, assess RAP WPS agenda in the BARMM, and recommend WPS policies for the BTA.

MSU Young Society Parliamentarians Writeshop

MSU Young Society Parliamentarians Writeshop on the drafting of Position Papers on proposed Bangsamoro Local Governance Code and Bangsamo Electoral Code.

Said activity is an initiative of the Kalombayan Kilos Organization, in partnership with the Office of MP Mitmug District Office. The Office also discussed the salient provisions of the aforementioned proposed codes with the students. The position paper of the BLGC as a result of the writeshop was turned over to the Office which was endorsed by the latter to the appropriate

 

The Bangsamoro Parliament’s Rules Committee

Day 5 and last day of deliberations

The Bangsamoro Parliament’s Rules Committee finished its deliberations on Articles 1 through 10 of BTA Bill No. 29, bringing the proposed electoral code one step closer to committee approval.

Following a series of public consultations, the committee immediately started deliberating the 14-article electoral code.

On Wednesday, February 8, the committee discussed Articles 7 to 10 of the code, such as the qualification of elective local officials, regular elections of officials, the conduct of elections, electorates, and election administration.

The deliberation today was presided over by Floor Leader and COR Chair Atty. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba.

Atty. Dumama-Alba said that the committee targets submitting the committee report when the session resumes on the third week of February.

The electoral code is one of the Bangsamoro Parliament’s priority measures that must be enacted during the transition period.

It will outline the structural, functional, and procedural principles that will govern the election of officers in the region.(LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations Division)
